  1. this article has much more profound knowledge and very resonating in my daily activities personally

  2. I focus in how I’ll feel after I complete the action/activity… usually relief and freedom from guilt! Focusing on the outcome of completion is my greatest motivation. Took some practicing but the payoff is now I automatically think that way.

  3. I wish this article hadn’t highlighted cookies and losing weight. Diet culture has created eating disorders in millions of people, primarily women. Focusing on banishing “treats” for the goal of getting as slender as the male gaze demands of women is both unrealistic and harmful. Let’s leave women’s bodies out of this discussion, shall we?

    1. The advice was not aimed at women but at anyone trying to stick to an eating plan. I think that advice applies to anyone with a sweet tooth. There was no mention in the example of why someone would be looking to lose 10 pounds, but I think the best motivation for that is to be healthy (not what anyone else thinks of you).
